أبو القاسم الشابي - قصيدة إرادة الحياة

‘‘I have looked at my country with a lot of tenderness and I never get tired of it. Its natural beauty, the generosity of its land and its people… This Tunisia, with its rich and diversified heritage, I have photographed tirelessly, day after day…

To begin this new year together under the name of creativity, care and diversity, three of the fundamental values of our University, I am pleased to invite you to

‘‘ Tunisie plurielle, présents multiples”

Pr. Mahmoud Triki

AQUATIC
MIRAGES

In an incessant game of mirrors, the sky and the sea merge, the city and the water embrace each other and the boats multiply. O sea, source of life, you are the soul of my country.

«Free man, you will always cherish the sea! The sea is your mirror; you contemplate your soul».

CHARLES BAUDELAIRE

ARCHITECTURAL

HERITAGE

From Djerba to Kairouan, from Sfax to Carthage, from El Jem to Sidi Bou Saïd, from Korbous to Zaghouan, Tunisia never ceases to unfold its thousand-year-old gates, its mysterious domes, its stones full of history and its contrasting shores.

«Each stone is a book As old as the fables Every street is a story As complicated as the night».

TAHAR BEN JELLOUN

TREES,
EMBLEMS OF MY COUNTRY

In an arid nature, the trees of my country stand up, palms and olive trees, to offer us their gifts: generous bunches, succulent fruits, oasis of greenery and fertility. A tribute to the abundant nature but also to the admirable men and women who cultivated these lands and transformed the desert.

«No worries! No pain! No fear! Spring is sweet, the tree is in bloom The pregnant nature displays its splendor Promises of fullness fill the hearts».

EZZEDINE FERJANI

THE

TRADITIONAL

TRADES

Tunisia is still full of all these small trades that make the life of our medina, these craftsmen who for a few pennies repair our shoes, dress our heads, treat us to ftayri or juicy figs, sharpen our knives and varnish our furniture … But for how long?

«Where are you, old workshops of yesteryear, Who endowed our villages with nobility? In no country now survives The unbelievable art of your precious works»
